‘Beijing Screenings’ event explores potential of overseas markets

More than 70 exceptional Chinese films were recently selected for an official screening event dedicated to broadening the scope of overseas movie markets for domestic releases.

The ‘Beijing Screenings’ event is a special session of the ongoing Beijing International Film Festival, featuring films such as Chang An, an animated work that showcases the brilliance of the poets of the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

The comedy-drama Pegasus 2, which follows the exploits of a disgraced racing driver who turned his fortunes around by building a racing team from scratch, is also on the list of releases slated for the screening event.

According to Xu Yang, an official with the China Film Administration, ‘Beijing Screenings’ was set up to provide a channel for filmmakers to learn from each other, promote each other’s film industries, and offer a platform for win-win cooperation.
